Increase in Margin Requirements

Dear Valued Customers,

With effect from the close of trading hours of 17/01/2012, the Initial Margin and Maintenance Margin Requirement for the below mentioned contracts will be increased by an additional 20% respectively due to recent market volatility.

This increase in margin requirements will be effective from close of trading hours of 17/01/2012 to close of trading hours of 27/01/2012.

• Spot FOREX and Bullion will stop on 26th December 2011 at 1500 hrs, Singapore time.

Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) New Changes

Dear Valued Customers,

The Tokyo Stock Exchange will be launching its new Tdex+ futures and options trading engine on 21 November 2011, Monday.

Concurrently, new functionalities and condition modifiers will be launched on TSE as well.

Do take note of the following changes:

  • Trading hours will be extended to 2330 hrs Tokyo time (2230 hrs, Singapore time) from 21 Nov 2011.
  • Friday, 18 Nov will be the last trading day on old system (Tdex+)
  • No evening (T+1) session for JGB Future/Option indices on Friday, 18 Nov.
  • GTC/GTD orders must be cancelled from old system by end of trading day on Fri, 18 Nov

Increase in Margin Requirements for all products

Dear Valued Customers,

With effect from the start of trading hours on Tuesday, 27 September 2011, the Initial Margin Requirement for all products offered by Phillip Futures will be increased by an additional 20% due to recent market volatility. The Maintenance Margin Requirement for all contracts will also be increased to the equivalent of the raised Initial Margin level.

As such, any shortfall in account balance resulting from this increase will trigger a Margin Call on Wednesday, 28 September 2011 (T+1).

Extension in TOCOM trading Hours

Dear Valued Customers,

Tokyo Commodity Exchange Inc. (TOCOM) has announced that they will extend trading hours for the night session starting September 21, 2010.

The current traded night session which starts at 16:00 and closes at 22:00 will trade up to 3:30am, and then will re-open for the day session at 8:00am. Rubber futures will be the only contract where there will be no change in trading hours.

Enhancement to SGX-DT Trading Hours and Sessions

Dear Valued Customer,

The SGX Exchange is pleased to announce the following enhancements to the marketplace with effect from 30 August 2010. These enhancements are aimed at providing customers more flexibility in trading SGX-DT listed derivatives contracts.

Extension of T+1 session till 2.00 am
The T+1 session for SGX-DT contracts will be extended from current 1.00 am to 2.00 am. This extension will allow customers to better manage their positions in response to news and market movements during the European and North American trading hours.

Shortening of trading break for Nikkei 225 suite and MSCI Taiwan suite
The trading break for Nikkei 225 suite and MSCI Taiwan suite will be reduced to 30 minutes between the close of T session and start of the Pre-Open of T+1 session. With the earlier opening of the T+1 session, customers will be able to better react to news and market movements during Asian trading hours.

 The extended T+1 Session trading hours will allow customers to better manage their risk exposure arising from news and market movements during the European and US trading hours.
